well, hubby only has 7 more days of high dose interferon. he has been doing well-just stays extremely tired. the weekends are WONDERFUL, because he is back to his old self...which is kinda bittersweet..we are happy that he feels better, but we dread the monday treatment that takes him away again.
he has been keeping himself busy watching the olympics-we all have..we LOVE to watch!! our fave events are beach volleyball (really we love all the volleyball-but, beach is our fave), swimming, tennis, soccer and gymnastics. this has been a lifesaver when hubby wakes up late in the night-he is able to click around and see what is going on in beijing :)
lately i have been reading blogs from other melanoma warriors, spouses, etc....some make me feel better, some make me sick to my stomach!! melanoma keeps touching more and more lives, yet, people still don't get it. they still don't think skin cancer can kill you-or i guess like most things, they just think it can't happen to them....i still feel the need to tell everyone about melanoma....sorry if i drive any of you crazy-but i LOVE you and want to save your life....
gotta go get the kiddos fed, bathed and ready for bed-tomorrow's another day!!
my name is Mindy Stanley Anderson and i began this blog to share updates of my life-as the wife of a melanoma warrior. my husband Marcus lost his battle April 1, 2010. i will continue to blog here in his honor, in hopes that i can help other families during their time of struggle. all glory goes to God-we would not be where we are without his help-with him we can do ANYTHING!

LEARN THE ABCDEF'S OF MELANOMA!!! EARLY DETECTION IS THE KEY!
- ASYMMETRY: Does half of the mole look different from the other half?
- BORDER: Is the border of the mole irregular or ill defined?
- COLOR: Is the color uneven or has it changed over time?
- DIAMETER: Is the mole larger than a pencil eraser?
- ELEVATION: Has the surface of the mole changed? If it was smooth and flat before, is it now elevated ?
- FEELING: Has the sensation around the mole changed? Does it itch? Is it painful?
- PLEASE DO A SKIN EXAM EVERY MONTH AND WATCH FOR THESE SIGNS.
