just a quick little post to let you all know that marcus is doing very well!! he completed day 2 of chemo today-and has 2 more days of this cycle....then 17 days off. he spoke with dr. lavalais and she told him this chemo would accumulate and he may not feel anything until a few weeks after receiving treatment...but we are going to keep praying that God keeps all side effects to a minimum and he keeps feeling great! we are still draining fluid from his denver catheter that was inserted into his chest last week-this has helped him tremendously! he was having such a hard time breathing because of the fluid in his pleural cavity. dr. lavalais said it may take 3-4 weeks before he sees a decrease in that fluid.
we are still standing in faith that God will use this chemo to produce a complete healing....and we will not accept anything else!!! thank you all for your continued prayers, emails, texts and support-we love you all so very much!!
my name is Mindy Stanley Anderson and i began this blog to share updates of my life-as the wife of a melanoma warrior. my husband Marcus lost his battle April 1, 2010. i will continue to blog here in his honor, in hopes that i can help other families during their time of struggle. all glory goes to God-we would not be where we are without his help-with him we can do ANYTHING!

LEARN THE ABCDEF'S OF MELANOMA!!! EARLY DETECTION IS THE KEY!
- ASYMMETRY: Does half of the mole look different from the other half?
- BORDER: Is the border of the mole irregular or ill defined?
- COLOR: Is the color uneven or has it changed over time?
- DIAMETER: Is the mole larger than a pencil eraser?
- ELEVATION: Has the surface of the mole changed? If it was smooth and flat before, is it now elevated ?
- FEELING: Has the sensation around the mole changed? Does it itch? Is it painful?
- PLEASE DO A SKIN EXAM EVERY MONTH AND WATCH FOR THESE SIGNS.
